Who doesn’t love Halloween? If nothing else, it’s the one day of the where people the world over can openly enjoy their love for the gory and grotesque without fear of being branded a complete nut-job. Thankfully, Namco Bandai understands this, and has announced that their upcoming gore-fest, Splatterhouse, will coincide with the undead holiday.
Taking it’s roots from an arcade beat-’em-up released in 1988, Splatterhouse follows Rick, a college student who happens upon a mystical mask imbuing him with superpowers and the desire to kill everything in his path – think Stanley Ipkiss on a bad day. Players can expect a mix of platforming, puzzle-solving and gross-out combat on the road to finding Jennifer, the hero’s beloved girlfriend.
Splatterhouse is due for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 this Autumn. Rest assured, Xboxic will keep you up to date as details emerge.
